Topnotch comedian duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya have now come up with a new two episodic soap opera ‘Dhalamati’ to aware people about the facts and impacts of pollution in the society.
The tele-film themed on drainage management and its effect on the public health was premiered at the National Trust for Nature Conservation Hall, Khumaltar by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Planning and Construction Vijay Kumar Gachhadar.
Directed by the duo themselves, the story of it revolves around Hari Prasad, who faces problems because of the unavailability of water and toilet, and, Madan Sahu, who has not constructed a toilet in his house because of water scarcity. Further, it also asks people not to mix gutters directly in rivers.
"We believe that this initiation will help people aware about pollution and its impact in the society," said actor Shrestha and appealed all media houses to ask everyone about the killing effects of pollution and the importance of solid waste management.
After releasing the tele-serial, Gachhadar said, "It was very necessary to aware people about pollution as people seem to ignore its effect on them and the society. I deem that this move by MaHa will surely convince people not to contaminate their own environment."
Thanking MaHa for their effort, he also opined that the sacred Bagmati River should be cleaned and should always stay clean like in the soap where it says the rivers like Bagmati that are worshipped should not be contaminated with filth and garbage.
A production venture of MaHa Sanchar, Dhalamati is supported by High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of the Bagmati Civilization, Government of Nepal, National Trust for Nature Conservation and UNHabitat in the cooperation of Guthi, a non government organization and Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO).
